Step one of your marketing plan will be to connect with your customers. This is a virtually free method, as all you need to do is create a blog. Blog about your business, offers and promotions for people who read regularly, and get to know your customers! Being able to get feedback from them is so important, and will really help you tailor your business to their needs.



If a straight up blog isn't for you, try creating a Facebook business page. The good thing about these are that people will "follow" you and "like" you, and you'll be able to get a handle on how many customers you do have, and free advertising among your customer's social networks.

After you've made the first step, you can branch out in more areas like advertising on sites and directories that will help you reach your customers. If anything, try the free advertising venues social media will offer you so you can get your feet wet without risking too much money on advertising that might not bring you anything.
